The intent of this Request for Information (“RFI”) is to obtain information and high-level cost estimates for the establishment of a City-wide internet of things “IoT” production infrastructure platform.

The City intends to transition its current IoT capabilities from a pilot/sandbox environment to a scalable, secure, and production-ready solution. The production-ready solution is expected to support existing use cases (e.g., occupancy sensors) as well as future IoT initiatives across multiple City departments. Specifically, the City is seeking information related but not limited to:
a) Scalable IoT platform architectures (cloud, hybrid, or managed service models);
b) Device connectivity and management (e.g., LoRaWAN, gateways, sensor onboarding);
c) Data ingestion, processing, and integration with enterprise data platforms;
d) Security and compliance considerations (including data residency and access controls);
e) Operational support models, including monitoring, maintenance, and lifecycle management; and
f) Estimated capital and ongoing operating costs.
