Description: 

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (‘RFP’) is to invite Proposals for the removal of synthetic turf and construction of miscellaneous civil work at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West Synthetic Field 5 (‘BLSCW Field 5’), in the City of Burnaby (‘City’), B.C., Canada.  The Work in this RFP also includes disposition of all remaining synthetic turf material in an approved manner (reuse by others, materials recycled, used as industry fuel source, etc.). 


The BLSCW Field 5 was completed in 2009 with a lit infilled synthetic turf system. The existing field consists of a sand-rubber infilled synthetic turf surface over a permeable aggregate base and subsurface drainage system with laterals at 4.5 m on-centre spacing. 


The Work proposed at BLSCW Field 5 includes general demolition, turf removal and disposition, removing and replacing permeable aggregate, player and referee shelters, concrete paving, and asphalt paving (optional), and other miscellaneous regular and optional work.  


The supply and installation of new synthetic turf will be completed under a separate Contract by others (i.e., not included in this RFP).
