The City of Burnaby (“City”) wishes to retain the services of a consulting firm (“Consultant”) to:
1. Produce a space plan to meet the long term programming needs of McGill Library; and
2. Provide Basic Architectural Services to complete a tenant improvement to accommodate the installation of a new Automated Materials Handling System “AMHS”.
McGill Library is located at 4595 Albert Street, in Burnaby. The Consultant team shall be led by the Prime Consultant. Additional Consultants shall be included upon recommendation by the Prime Consultant. The Prime Consultant will work with a Construction Manager (“CM”) under a CM contract to complete the work.

An optional site visit for this RFP will be held on August 10, 2023, commencing at 2:00 PM. Proponents are requested to meet at the front entrance to the McGill Library located at 4595 Albert Street, Burnaby, BC. The City recommends that attendees wear non-medical grade masks for the duration of the site visit, but are not mandatory. Sub-Consultants are able to join the site visit.
Site Inspection: It is noted that the Proponent is responsible to view the site to determine the existing conditions, dimensions, and limitations. No claim for extras will be considered if such a claim can be reasonably attributed to the Proponent’s failure to properly inspect the site.
